I’ve read many golf fitness books and find that there are quite a number that I rate as being very good. Before you go looking for fitness books, make up your mind which parts of your body or swing that you think need help. Some of them get very specific, such as back or leg fitness. If you look far enough, you’ll find generalized books that will help you with your overall fitness training.
A quick search at Amazon.com for “golf fitness” results in a list of 50 such books. Here are the top 6:
1. Get Yourself in Golf Shape :Year-Round Drills to Build a Strong Flexible Swing by Cindy Reid, Steve Eubanks, and Vijay Singh (Paperback – Sep 29, 2005)
2. Complete Conditioning for Golf (Book & DVD) by Pete Draovitch and Ralph Simpson (Paperback – May 25, 2007)
3. Core Performance Golf: The Revolutionary Training and Nutrition Program for Success On and Off the Course by Mark Verstegen, Pete Williams, and Tom Lehman (Hardcover – Feb 19, 2008)
5. Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Golf by Rob Price (Paperback – April 1, 2006)
6. Golf Rx: A 15-Minute-a-Day Core Program for More Yards and Less Pain by Vijay Vad and Dave Allen (Paperback – Mar 13, 2008)
I recommend: Core Performance Golf: The Revolutionary Training and Nutrition Program for Success On and Off the Course by Mark Verstegen, Pete Williams, and Tom Lehman
